Problem with Samsung fridge

Since frequent power failures, the icecream in the freezer had melted. Usually this collects in the freezer tray. We do then clean it manually. This approach dint have much problem even though it involved manual work. But in Samsung (i dont know about other makes if this is the same) there is a drop hole in the freezer tray which seeps the water or any liquid collected in the tray through a tube and collects in the small collecter at the back and bottom of the fridge.
I was said this water will evaporate .. since the icecream has melted it had collected in this tray and had been like this since a week, until the whole house was stinking bad and the cause of it was this tray was full of white color worms due to this liquid collected ... moreover you cant remove the tray out .. such a bad design .. i had to pull the fridge out and clean it (water + Dettol + phenoyl wash - such a bad smell and worms)
Sales Reps never give these details .. the fridfge's design is very theoritical just considering water ( will seep out and evaporate .. )
